First Day
List Poem

Clear sky staring
at screams of laughter,
breathing in at a dragonfly
transparently slicing.
I watch,
windy, still
dirty, fresh,
warm, cold.
Falling fast.
Descending slow
into silence
I go.
Sound engulfs
and sweetly sings.
My eyelids burning
from chlorine.
Somewhere far a deep voice
calls me away.
Bait is hooked and
flung into a
glassy mold
set for the ripples that
come to bring a wiggling fish
bumpy under my fingers
into a
dry cradle to
stay and then
go.

Poetic Elements:
One of the poetic elements I used in the above poem is end rhyme which is when the end of two or more lines of verse rhyme. "Descending slow into silence I go" uses this with the highlighted words. I thought a subtle rhyme in a poem with such a beat would be sort of a break in the flow of the list poem.
Another of the poetic elements I used in the above poem is auditory imagery which is representation through sound. When the deep voice calls the character away is when I used this element. I used it because I thought there was a certain internal state that the poem brings- like the entire scene is in her head. When I used the external element of the voice I think a certain sense of reality was brought into the poem.
I also used tactile imagery and a hyberbole.
